RJ Johnson is the Chief Commercial Officer at Form Energy, overseeing a broad portfolio including State Policy & Regulatory Affairs, Product Development, Commercial Analytics, Business Development, Project Engineering, and Operations & Maintenance.

Prior to joining Form Energy, RJ excelled as a leader in the energy sector. At Tesla Energy, he spearheaded Energy Operations, driving business development, sales, operations, and maintenance across utility, commercial, and residential storage and solar markets. RJ also managed service operations for Tesla’s global Supercharger network.

Before Tesla, RJ held pivotal roles at NextEra Energy Resources, notably as Vice President of Origination. In this capacity, he championed market and product development, engaged customers, and led contracting efforts for wind, solar, and storage projects across North America, serving utilities, municipalities, co-operatives, and commercial & industrial clients.

RJ’s professional journey began as a U.S. Army officer, where he earned distinction with two Bronze Star Medals for his exceptional leadership during combat operations. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
