Brian Lewis is the Interim General Counsel at Form Energy. He oversees the company’s global legal and compliance efforts and provides strategic counsel to Form’s leadership team. He also leads a talented team of attorneys who support the company’s critical operations across commercial transactions, supply chain & procurement, intellectual property management, corporate governance, and labor & employee relations, working to mitigate risk and empower the company to achieve its  operational and commercial objectives.

Prior to joining Form Energy, Brian was a Director & Associate General Counsel at Facebook (now Meta), where he led its user data disclosure and compliance program, managed the team advising on user data disclosure in response to U.S. civil and criminal legal requests, and advised on and led extraordinary and high-visibility user data disclosure efforts globally.

Brian previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Northern District of California where he investigated and prosecuted a variety of federal crimes, including corporate fraud, violent crimes, and more. Brian tried numerous cases to jury verdict and argued appeals before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He also served as Senior Litigation Counsel at the U.S. Attorney’s Office and Deputy Chief of the Oakland Branch Office.

Prior to his career in public service, Brian was in private practice in Chicago, where he focused on intellectual property, product liability, and general commercial litigation.

Brian earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, and his A.B. from Princeton University in Public Policy and International Affairs with a certificate in African American Studies.
