To enable a clean energy future and tackle climate change, the world will need a new class of low-cost, multi-day energy storage technologies. We’ve assembled a diverse team of some of the world’s most talented engineers, scientists, strategists, and manufacturing experts to develop and deliver that technology at scale. If you are hungry to make a meaningful impact on the world through your work, while being given room to grow and supercharge your career in ways you never thought possible before, then take a look at our open roles.
Our goals, products, and processes are rooted in three interlocking core values:
We are human first. Inclusion, diversity, empathy, and respect are cornerstones of our trusting community. Our work products enable a good and just society.
We perform to the highest standards on every axis, while being clear-eyed optimists about how we can be better, always. As gritty pragmatists, we dig into challenges and learn our way forward.
We answer “yes, if” to the hardest challenges in our path, harnessing innovative and creative solutions to keep us always moving forwards.
Humanity is a cornerstone of Form Energy’s culture, and we make sure our employee benefits reflect that.
Today, Form Energy has over 500 employees across the country, with facilities and offices in Massachusetts, California, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
We believe that to achieve climate justice, we need everyone at the table. We strive to build a company with a workforce reflective of the communities we aim to serve with our technology – a company where every employee feels a sense of belonging. We commit significant resources towards equity, inclusion, and diversity and hold ourselves accountable to continuous improvement. We are proud to report the progress we are making and will continue to make.
Notes: Data is as of September 2021, when Form Energy’s headcount was 143 employees. Our ethnicity data includes only those employees who choose to self-identify and our ethnicity categories, the EEO-1 categories used by the US government, are imperfect and may not fully represent each and every Form Energy employee. Percentages may not add to 100% due to rounding. For gender data, employees not reporting were 2% or less, so this category is not shown. US Population data is from census.gov and may not add up to 100%.

Form Energy has an engineering facility in the heart of the Bay Area. Here, our teams are primarily focused on battery design and engineering, as well as full-scale validation and testing.
Form Energy’s first commercial-scale battery manufacturing facility will be located in Weirton, West Virginia at the site of the former Weirton Steel plant. Factory construction has already begun, and we expect to open the factory for high-volume manufacturing in 2024.
Just outside of Pittsburgh, Form Energy has a large advanced manufacturing facility in Eighty Four, Pennsylvania. This is where we develop and test pilot manufacturing processes in preparation for high-volume production.
Form Energy has an R&D facility just outside of Boston. Our Somerville team of scientists, engineers, and lab technicians work to continuously innovate and push the boundaries of electrochemical battery performance.
